Azerbaijan significantly increases gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline

In January-July 2019, Azerbaijan exported 5.811 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, which is 37.8 percent more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 36.3 percent of all gas transported by Azerbaijan. This figure grew by 3.9 percent for a year.

In January-July 2019, almost 16 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via trunk pipelines, which exceeds the figure in the same period last year by 20.3 percent.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
