Some 1.7 million barrels of gasoline were sold on Iran’s energy exchange, the National Iranian National Oil Products Distribution Company said, Trend reports on Dec. 17 referring to the company's website.
Along with gasoline, 125,000 tons of diesel were also sold for export. These figures are record highs.
The oil products are purchased and sold on the energy exchange at the SANA system rate ($1 – 126,512 rials). In terms of price, the amount of trading on the stock exchange last day amounted to $180 million.
“The products worth $442 million were sold on the energy exchange from November 21 through December 21,” the company said.
The sales record accounted for the sixth month (from August 23 through September 22) and amounted to $362 million.
The US imposed the sanctions against Iran in November 2018 and expanded their list in several stages, which had an extremely negative impact on the Iranian economy.
