Iran's Shazand Petrochemical Company announces fuel supply volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29

Iranian Abadan Oil Refinery Company sent more than 110 million liters of naphtha to the Shazand Petrochemical Company last Iranian year, (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), director for Oil Transportation Center in Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company Mohammad Salimi Panah said, Trend reports citing official website of the company.

According to Salimi Panah, the naphtha was sent to Shazand Petrochemical Company in 12 stages. Thus, the naphtha was transported via pipelines by Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunication Company.

Salimi Panah added that if there were no pipelines, this amount of product would have to be transported by 3,500 oil tankers.

The official said that transportation via pipeline has played an important role in safety and prevention of environmental pollution.

Iran's Shazand Petrochemical Company produces 306,000 tons of ethylene and 124,000 tons of propylene a year.

The company produces heavy polyethylene, light polyethylene and other chemical products.
