Uzbekneftegaz chose the US-based Honeywell UOP as a licensor for production of ecologically-friendly fuel at Bukhara Refinery, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz.
"A license agreement for provision of technical licenses was signed between Bukhara Oil Refinery LLC and Honeywell UOP," said the statement.
Also, Bukhara Oil Refinery reached an agreement with Honeywell on development of project documentation package within modernization of the refinery.
The project involves increasing the depth of processing at the enterprise from 79 percent to 95 percent, increasing the output of light oil products from 77 percent to 91 percent and increasing the volume of petroleum products. The total investment is estimated at $553 million and the project is planned to be implemented in three stages.
In spring 2020, Uzbekneftegaz announced the launch of production of diesel fuel Euro-4 and Euro-5 at Bukhara Refinery.
Currently, Bukhara, Fergana and Altyar oil refineries operate in Uzbekistan with a total capacity of 10 million tons per year.
Honeywell UOP is a worldwide known company in design and construction of petrochemical and energy facilities. Moreover, it acts as a contractor and licensor of equipment and has participated in more than 20 major projects in Uzbekistan.
