Turkmen scientist talks possibility of Turkmenistan’s national economy saturation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 29

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Hydrogen can become one of the sources of saturation of the national economy of Turkmenistan, said Turkmen Doctor of Technical Sciences Allaberdy Ilyasov, Trend reports with reference to CentralAsia.news.

According to him, hydrogen is one of the industrial gases used in chemistry and oil refining, and the main source of energy for its production is natural gas, which is available in a huge volume in Turkmenistan.

For example, more than 68 percent of hydrogen is now produced from natural gas, 16 percent from oil, 11 percent from coal, and 5 percent from water by electrolysis, he said.

He notes that projects using hydrogen are gradually increasing in the world, in particular, in the areas of large and distributed energy, energy storage, and all types of transport, from cars to aircraft and ships.

He also noted that the development of efficient, cost-effective, competitive, and safe hydrogen production technologies is the basis of hydrogen energy.

As reported, Turkmenistan is taking measures to increase the volume of natural gas production.
