STAR refinery increases crude oil imports in July

The STAR oil refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Turkey imported 856,237 tons of crude oil in July 2020, as compared to 712,764 tons in the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority ( EPDK).

The EPDK report shows that the STAR refinery produced 588,856 tons and 6,212 tons of diesel fuel and jet fuel respectively in July 2020, as compared to 383,680 tons of diesel fuel, 24,061 tons of high-sulfur fuel oil and 118,518 tons of jet fuel in July 2019.

The refinery exported 130,017 tons of diesel fuel in July 2020, the report says.

The STAR refinery’s opening ceremony took place on October 19, 2018 in Izmir, Turkey. Its refining capacity is 10 million tons of crude oil per year.

The STAR refinery, which has been equipped with the most modern technologies, is capable of processing more than 100 types of oil.
