Kazakhstan reports increase in coal extraction, electricity generation

Kazakhstan has extracted 10.5 million tons of coal in January 2021, which is 6.3 percent more than in January 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Furthermore, crude oil extraction including gas condensate was 5.8 million tons during the reporting period of 2021, which is 14 percent less as compared to the volume extracted in January 2020.

Kazakhstan has also extracted 4.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January 2021, which is 10.3 percent less year-on-year.

Fuel oil manufacturing volume stood at 408,100 tons in Jan. 2021, which is 4.2 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

Kerosene manufacturing amounted to 34,600 tons in Jan. 2021 (down by 31.5 percent), whereas gasoil (diesel fuel) manufacturing equaled 330,600 tons in Jan. 2021 (15.6 percent less).

Hydrocarbon liquefied gases output was 101,500 tons (down by 15.1 percent annual).

Electricity generation in January 2021 equaled 11.03 billion kWh, which is 5.4 percent more than in January 2020.

The volume of thermal energy generated in 2020 amounted 13.3 million Gcal with an annual increase of 13.6 percent.
