The drilling of four new wells was launched to maintain and increase extraction from the Siyah Makan oil field in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran), Trend reports citing the National Iranian South Oil Company’s website.

According to the report, the development of the field is carried out within the NISOC's plan to maintain and increase the extraction from 28 oil reservoirs. According to this plan, the Siyahmakan field is being developed under the contract of Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC).

“In addition to 4 wells to be drilled at a depth of about 5,000 meters in the Siyahmakan field, an oil pressure boosting and primary refining center will be built. Also, 12 and 8-inch pipelines and 66-kilowatt power lines will be laid,” the report said.

A reservoir of the Gachsaran oil field in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran) has been named the Siyah makan oil field by Iran.

A contract worth 34 million euros has been signed between the NISOC and the PEDC on the development of this field.

According to the contract, extraction from this field will reach daily 10,000 barrels. At present, daily 4,000 barrels of crude oil were extracted from the field.
