Kazakhstan, France discuss fuel energy cooperation prospects

Head of Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry Nurlan Nogayev met with Franck Riester, minister-delegate for foreign trade and economic attractiveness attached to the minister for Europe and foreign affairs of France, Trend reports referring to the ministry.

According to the ministry, Nogayev also met with Yves-Louis Darricarrere, representative of the MEDEF (Movement of the Enterprises of France) International.

The parties discussed the implementation of current joint large-scale projects in the fuel and energy complex and considered the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources, oil production and investments.

The energy minister noted the effective activities of large French companies such as Total, Orano, Air Liquide and others, implementing large-scale energy projects in Kazakhstan.

Besides, representatives of Total, Orano, Alstom, Air Liquide, Idemia, Lazard Freres, EDF, headed by the co-chairman of the MEDEF International French-Kazakh business council, touched upon issues of implementation of joint projects in the fields of nuclear energy, the production of industrial gases of hydrogen and nitrogen for the Atyrau Refinery and Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery and engineering services in the field of energy and water resources.

At the end of the meeting, the parties decided to continue mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and France in the fuel energy sector.
