Iran improves oil wells at Sivand field to boost output

An oil well that has been injected with water to increase extraction from the Sivand oil field of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company was improved, Executive Director of Drilling Company International (DCI) Hamid Reza Seghafi said, Trend reports citing Petropars Operation and Management Company (POMC).

According to him, about 3,000 barrels of water per day will be injected into well E10.

The director added that this well was improved to maintain and increase oil extraction from the Sivand field.

Seghafi noted that so far, 3 extraction wells and 2 injection wells have been launched at the Sivand field under a contract. In addition, two extraction wells are currently being drilled.

The Sivand oil field of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company is located 43 km west of Siri Island.

A contract has been signed between the Iranian Offshore Oil Company and the Iranian PetroIran Company on the plan to maintain and increase the extraction from the Sivand and Esfand oil fields. It is expected that 12 wells will be drilled, repaired, and upgraded in the Sivand and Esfand fields under the contract.

As reported, the IOOC extracts daily about 11,000 barrels of oil from the Sivand oil field and 60,000 barrels from the Esfand oil field.
