Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has fully implemented the 2020 plans for exploration drilling, Trend reports with reference to the company’s Sustainability Report 2020.
SOCAR’s drilling companies have drilled 55,906 meters, thereby fulfilling the plan by 98.5 percent. Operational drilling targets were met by 98.5 percent.
Moreover, the company carried 2D and 3D seismic works in an area of 569 square kilometers and 5,031 kilometers, respectively. Mining geophysical works were conducted upon the requests of SOCAR’s companies, as well as joint ventures and operating companies in Azerbaijan. Jointly with foreign companies SOCAR drilled 8,758 meters for exploration purposes.
SOCAR is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR conducts various petroleum activities in countries such as Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine, including trading activities, mainly in Switzerland, Singapore and Nigeria.
