Iran boosts gas condensate export capacity in Persian Gulf

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 22

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iran's export potential for gas condensate from the Persian Gulf has increased with the installation of the 4th floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) owned by the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC), an official of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Hossein Azimi said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

The official noted that large oil tankers can dock this floating system, which is installed about 7 km from the coast.

“In the first stage, 1 million barrels of gas condensate were loaded onto a tanker for export via the floating system. In the 4th SPM, 7,000 cubic meters of gas condensate can be loaded on a tanker per hour,” he added.

Azimi said that the operation of transporting gas condensate to the 4th floating system lasted 3 days, and gas condensate was transported to the system through a 36-inch pipeline.

“With the installation of this system, conditions have been created for periodic repairs in other floating systems,” the official stressed.
