Iran to launch new power units for TPPs

Iran will launch 7 new medium-sized power units for thermal power plants over the next two years, said Mohsen Tarztalab, Managing Director of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH), Trend reports citing the company’s website.

He made the remark during the signing ceremony of a contract on the construction of 7 medium-sized units for thermal power plants.

According to the contract, the total capacity of power plant units will be 294 megawatt-hours.

The director noted that these units will be built in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Yazd, and Lorestan provinces.

"Three of these units will be connected to Iran’s electricity network by May 22, 2022, while 4 units by September 23, 2023,” he added.

Tarztalab also pointed out funding for the construction of the units will be provided by the Iranian Energy Ministry and the TPPH.

On December 8, 2021, the Iranian Thermal Power Plants Holding Company and the MAPNA group signed a contract on the construction of 7 medium-scale units for thermal power plants. According to the contract, the units will be handed over within 24 months.
