BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Turkey dropped by 22.63 percent in February 2022, as compared to the same month in 2021, and stood at 747.52 million cubic meters versus 966.16 million cubic meters, Trend reports with reference to Turkey’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
The country came in third in terms of natural gas exports to Turkey during the reporting period.
Russia was the largest exporter of natural gas to Turkey in February 2022 with more than 2.352 billion cubic meters, a а 0.97 percent decrease year-on-year, followed by the US with 1.481 billion cubic meters, or 99.19 percent more year-on-year.
Turkey’s overall gas imports rose by 4.50 percent in February 2022 year-on-year and stood at 6.272 billion cubic meters versus 6.002 billion cubic meters, with more than 3.614 billion cubic meters accounting for pipeline imports and 2.658 billion cubic meters imported as liquefied natural gas.
Pipeline imports decreased by 12.93 percent, while LNG imports saw a 43.55 percent growth.
