BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has agreed on the necessary regulations for the import of oil products from Azerbaijan, the Gulf countries and the Middle East, RBC-Ukraine quoted the country’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal as saying, Trend reports.
Reportedly, Ukraine is preparing a checkpoint at the state border for this purpose.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure already has an agreement with the State Border Guard Service that one of the western checkpoints will operate only for fuel trucks, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem said.
Some checkpoints on the Polish border will work only for cargo, completely redirecting passenger and vehicles to other checkpoints.
The data provided by Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee shows that the country exported more than 506,349 tons of crude oil and oil products worth $304.5 million to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2022.
