BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 19. Iran’s Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company produced about 4 million tons of various petrochemical and chemical products during the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Executive Director of the company, Sepehdar Ansarinik said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The director said that the company has fulfilled its production plan for the current Iranian year by 95.5 percent.
“Meanwhile, the company has increased the production of some products for the reporting period compared to the plan. So, the company produced 484,000 tons of Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the plan,” he added.
Ansarinik noted that Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company also produced more than 171,000 tons of chlorine products during the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 1 percent compared to the production plan.
According to him, the company produced over 150,000 tons of heavy polyethylene for the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 10 percent compared to the plan.
“Furthermore, more than 122,000 tons of light polyethylene were produced by the company within the mentioned period, which shows a 10-percent increase compared to the plan,” the director pointed out.
Iran's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company is located on 270 hectares of land in the Fars Province (southern Iran). The company can produce 1 million tons of ethane, 1.96 million tons of propane, 1.57 million tons of butane, 1.41 million tons of pentane plus, 30,000 thousand tons of Raffinate C4 per year.
The company can also produce 411,000 tons of ethylene, 118,000 tons of polypropylene chemical grade, 64,000 tons of polypropylene polymer grade, 26,000 tons of butadiene, 180,000 tons of vinyl chloride, 440,000 tons of ethylene dichloride, 63,300 tons of hydrochloric acid, 6,600 tons of bleach, 150,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 100,000 tons of light polyethylene, 4,000 tons of artificial rubber per year.
