BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated over 1.35 billion kilowatts of electricity, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP, Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports.
Mahmoudi noted that of the mentioned volume, over 1.3 billion kilowatts were generated by steam units, while 48.8 million kilowatts – by gas units.
“Meanwhile in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), steam units of the Bandar Abbas TPP generated 505 million kilowatts of electricity. Also, the gas units produced 21.9 million kilowatts of electricity during the reporting month,” he added.
According to the official, currently, all power units of the station are fully operational and produce electricity at full capacity.
The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours.
The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
Overall, Iran’s thermal power plants generated more than 80 million megawatts of electricity within the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023).
