ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 24. Azerbaijan procured over 7,400 tons of gasoil from Turkmenistan from January through April this year, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan indicate that during the specified period, the quantity of gasoil acquisitions from Turkmenistan increased by 90 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, totaling nearly 3,900 tons.
Additionally, in terms of value, Azerbaijan's imports of gasoil from Turkmenistan from January through April this year totaled nearly $5.5 million, marking a 77 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when it was nearly $3.1 million.
In general, Turkmenistan was the main player in providing the lion's share of the gas oil that Azerbaijan imported in the first four months of this year.
Furthermore, last year, Azerbaijan imported about 28,600 tons of gasoil from Turkmenistan, with a total value of approximately $16.5 million.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the first four months of 2024 amounted to $150.6 million, which is almost half the trade turnover between the two countries in the same period last year, amounting to more than $296.5 million.
