BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. Equinor's serious incident frequency (SIF) per million hours worked dropped to 0.3 by the end of Q2 2024, down from 0.4 in Q1, Trend reports citing the company.

This figure includes serious personal injuries. The total recordable injury frequency (TRIF) per million hours worked stood at 2.2 for the 12 months ending in Q2, a slight decrease from 2.3 at the close of Q1.

The company remains committed to accident prevention, emphasizing management training and annual e-learning courses, which are also available to suppliers. Recent years have seen significant safety improvements in Equinor’s drilling and wells operations.

Over the past 12 months, nine oil and gas leaks were recorded, classified based on the severity of the leak rate. No incidents with major accident potential or serious well control issues occurred in Q2.

Equinor's “Always Safe” initiative collaborates with other operating companies and suppliers to enhance safety practices. The focus for Q3 is on preventing incidents related to falling objects.
