ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 29. Turkmenistan intends to increase natural gas production at one of its largest fields, 'Galkynysh', Trend reports.
This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, Batyr Amanov, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, the government's plans suggest that additional gas wells will be drilled and put into operation at the first stage of development, which will increase fuel production and ensure uninterrupted supplies to neighboring states.
Furthermore, Amanov, in general, reported at a government meeting on measures to provide Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern with the necessary funds for the construction of new wells in this field.
Meanwhile, the Turkmengaz State Concern estimates the nation's hydrocarbon resources at over 71 billion tons of oil equivalent. This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
