The work scheme of the 1st and 2nd power units of the Nakhchivan gas turbine power station is fulfilled. At present Azerenerji JSC eliminates some incompleteness in regulation of gas pressure to commission the units, the Company told Trend .

The units are expected to be commissioned till late March, Trend reports quoting Yasin Safarov, the head of the Energy Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR).

4 similar aggregates are under reconstruction with the participation of the foreign partners of Azerenerji. On two others German Enerco, Italian GTT and Austrian ABB carry

out assembling of equipment, imported from their plants in Europe.

According to Safarov, commission of 40-MW power station is scheduled for late April 2006. It will considerably assist in solution of the energy supply problem of the Nakhchivan AR, which receives energy from Turkey and Iran due the blockade by Armenia.

In 2006 new module station will be built in the Nakhchivan AR that will increase generating capacity by 90MW. Besides, a 36-MW hydroelectric power station is planned to be constructed on the Araz River in the Ordubad region.
