SOCAR concludes repair of catalytic cracking rig at ORP

Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant (ORP) has concluded a scheduled repair of the catalytic cracking rig. The rig is ready for commissioning and it will start working in normal regime from 3-4 April 2006.

According to an official of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) it will enable to increase export of gasoline under some contracts, and also resume export of liquefied gas.

In early March the plant resumed deliver of gasoline. Gasoline production will increase after installation of catalytic cracking. In April SOCAR is expected to supply to Georgia 5,000 tons of petrol a week.

In December 2005 SOCAR signed contract with Singaporean Petrofarm for delivery of 50,000 tons of gasoline in 2006. Oil product will be shipped by Petrofarm on FOB basis - pier 20, in the balance of Azerneftyag ORP. Petrofarm will transport gasoline to Iranian Neka port by tankers.

SOCAR also have contract on gasoline delivery from Georgian Saknaphtobtransi Company in 2006. 20,000 tons of gasoline is supposed to be transported to Company per month.
