AIOC exports 5.7m tons of Azeri oil in 2006

Since the beginning of 2006 the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) has transported 5.7 million tons of Azerbaijani oil, the State Oil Company told Trend.

A total of 2.1 million tons of oil was transported via the western pipeline oil pipeline Baku-Supsa, while 1.2 million tons of oil was transported via the northern oil pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk and 2 million tons by railway in the direction of the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi.

The AIOC also delivered 0.4 million tons of oil to fulfill the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline. So far, over 1 million tons of oil has been pumped into the pipeline. In general, 10 million barrels of oil is required for the fulfillment of the pipeline.
