Yesterday Secretary General of the International Confederation of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Industry of CIS Member-States Melik Mirzoyev arrived in Baku, the State Republican Committee of Trade Unions of Employees of the Oil and Gas Industry of Azerbaijan told Trend today.
During his visit M. Mirzoyev will meet Jahangir Aliyev, the Chairman of the State Republican Committee of Trade Unions of Employees of the Oil and Gas Industry of Azerbaijan. During this meeting they will discuss prospect of cooperation, measures devoted to the 10 th anniversary of both committees to be taken in November, and the situation on preparation for
the agreement on cooperation between the two committees.
Being an international trade union of the oil and gas industry, the Confederation was established during the Constituent ongress of the Confederation in Mart 1992, and till December 1995 it had been called the Association of Trade Unions of Employees of the Oil and Gas Industry of Independent States. In accordance with the Chamber being adopted during the Constituent Congress of the Association, it became the successor of the Central Soviet f the Trade Union of the Oil and Gas Industry of USSR. In December 1995, the II Congress of the Association made a decision on reorganization of the Association of Trade Unions of Employees of the Oil and Gas Industry of Independent States to the International Confederation of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Industry of CIS Member-States. The members of the Organization are bodies of such countries like Ukraine, Russia, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and other ones. Azerbaijan became member of the Confederation in 1995.
