Shell Considering Possibilities to Transport Oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / Shell's Vice President for Business Development, Gay Outen, said at the meeting with the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) that the Company is considering the possibilities of transporting the profit section of its oil, which will be produced from the Kashagan field and other Kazakh fields, via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline.

The meeting also focused on the planning of work on the drilling exploration wells on the Inam field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Outen voiced his hope that all works will go on according to schedule.

The Oil and Gas Company Shell is interested in expanding its co-operation with SOCAR with regards to the oil and gas production, refinery and marketing. SOCAR President, Rovnak Abdullayev, said that Azerbaijan has the possibility of sending Kazakh oil to the Black Sea via railway or the Mediterranean Sea via BTC. All necessary infrastructures are in place.
