US Energy Ministry Publicizes Forecast Amount of Oil Production in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev, V.Sharifov / In 2008 oil production in Azerbaijan is forecasted at 1.08mln barrels a day as compared to 0.91mln in 2007. In 2006 the figure was 0.65mln barrels a day, according to the 'Short-term report on world oil production', developed by the US Energy Information Administration, an independent agency of the US Energy Ministry.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) and several joint ventures are involved in oil production in Azerbaijan.

In 2008 oil production in Kazakhstan is forecasted at 1.5mln barrels a day, as compared to 1.44mln in 2007.

In 2006 the figure was 1.35mln barrels a day.
