Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / Rovnag Abdullayev, the President of SOCAR, stated that specialists of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) are developing a project in expansion of Garadagh subsoil gas reservoir. Once the project is developed the SOCAR will commence its implementation.
SOCAR intends to carry out the project through use of its own infrastructure and enterprises.

Within the framework of work on expansion of gas reservoir it is planned to drill new and repair the old wells, replace the pipelines and install compressors.
The budget of the 2-year project is $150-$160mln. However, Abdullayev allowed cut in its cost because the work here is carried out at the expense of SOCAR's own funds. Earlier, it was planned to carry out the project at the expense of credits. Azerigas gas company announced a tender, while later it was ceased.
The project envisages projecting natural gas compression stations and gas purifying devices for the reconstruction of the Garadagh gas reservoir and expansion of its capacity 2.3bln cu m. It is also planned to carry out installation of equipment, construction, overhaul of old wells, drilling of new wells, clarification of drilling areas, testing of wells and undergrounds reservoirs.
