Iran discloses investment plans in Yazd Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25

It is planned to invest 300 million euros in the central Iranian province of Yazd in the current year (began March 20, 2020), Head of the Department for Economy and Financial Affairs of Yazd Province Ali Namazi told IRNA, Trend reports.

Positive steps have been taken in this regard, and investors from different countries are ready to provide finances for projects in the oil and gas sector and on the construction of solar panel power plants, Namazi said.

The department head added that the discussions were also held with investors from a number of countries to invest in 10 projects related to ceramics, solar panels, steel, mini petrochemical plants and others.

According to him, so far, two foreign investors have pledged to participate in two projects worth 25 million euros.

The official added that consultations were held with foreign investors and Iranian investors living abroad a willing to invest in the construction of steel, crane, glass powder, ferroalloy and other production facilities. However, due to US sanctions against Iran, the details of these consultations are not to be disclosed.

The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports, more than 700 banks, companies and individuals.
