BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The repatriation (export) of capital from Azerbaijan increased by 54.5 percent year-on-year to $6.9 billion in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the balance of payments of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The capital repatriation is formed in the balance of payments as a result of the difference between net financial liabilities in the oil and gas sector (-$2.9 billion) and attracted investments ($4 billion).
The volume of capital repatriation from Azerbaijan increased by $1.2 billion or 38.8 percent in 2020 compared to 2019 - from $3.2 billion to $4.5 billion.
