Kazakhstan sees increase in value of lending to physical persons

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The value of lending allocated by Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks amounted to 19.3 trillion tenge ($44.8 billion) as of the end of April 2022, which is 0.9 percent more than in March 2022 and 28.5 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

The value of lending to legal persons decreased by 0.5 percent amounting to 8.01 trillion tenge ($18.5 billion), whereas lending value to physical persons was 11.3 trillion tenge ($26.2 billion) which is 1.9 percent more than in March 2022.

According to the bank, the value of tenge-denominated loan value increased by 1.6 percent and amounted to 17.6 trillion tenge ($40.7 billion), whereas the value of foreign currency-denominated loans decreased by 5.6 percent to 1.7 trillion tenge ($4.06 billion).

The value of long-term loans amounted to 16.04 trillion tenge in April 2022 ($37.06 billion) which is 0.5 percent more than in March 2022, whereas the value of short-term loans increased by 3 percent to 3.3 trillion tenge ($7.7 billion).

Lending to ventures of small entrepreneurship amounted to 4.03 trillion tenge in April 2022 ($9.3 billion), which is 10.9 percent less than in March 2022 and is 50.4 percent of the total value of corporate loans allocated as of April 2022.

The weighted average remuneration rate on tenge denominated loans to non-bank legal entities was 15.2 percent April 2022 compared to 11.6 percent in April 2021, whereas to physical entities it was 17.3 percent compared to 17.3 percent in April 2021.
