BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. The volume of loans issued in Azerbaijan’s capital - Baku and regions increased by 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion) as of June 30, 2022, or 22.4 percent compared to the same period last year (from 14.2 billion manat or $8.3 billion to 18.3 billion manat or $10.7 billion), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to CBA, loans worth 14.2 billion manat ($8.3 billion) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 3.5 times higher than in the regions.
Loans in national currency in Baku accounted for 10.1 billion manat ($5.9 billion, 70.7 percent of total lending in Baku).
The average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 12.09 percent, and in Baku - 10.63 percent.
