Communications Ministry Considers Share of Communications Incomes in GDP small in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S. Babayeva / The share of communications incomes in the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) made up 1.7% over the first nine months of 2007 amid a 31% rise of the GDP, Rashad Nabiyev, the head of the Finance, Registration and Economic Analysis Department of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, said in a meeting dedicated to the Ministry's activities.

A total of 77% of incomes fell on the private sector and 70.2% was formed through remittances by the mobile operators.

The average monthly salary at the Ministry was AZN 206.6.

In this period, the Ministry transferred AZN 16.5mln to the public budget and AZN 6.9mln to the State Social Security Fund.

The total incomes obtained from the telecommunications sphere in this period reached AZN 131mln compared to the forecasted AZN 116.6mln. During this period, 316 jobs were opened at the enterprises of the Ministry.
