Well-Known Scientist Lutfi Zadeh to Visit Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 February / corr. Trend S. Babayeva/ Lutfi Zadeh, the well-known scientist of Azerbaijani origin, the mathematician and the professor of the California University ( Berkley) plans to visit Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan said.

"He is invited to Baku on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Cybernetics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan," the press service said. The exact date of the anniversary celebrations

has nor been fixed yet.

Lutfi Zadeh earlier said that Azerbaijan possesses great potential to develop information technologies. He recommended establishing a regional center for the scientific and technological studies which may include experts from industry, the professors of the higher schools and the scientific study institutes of not only Azerbaijan, but also that of the neighboring countries including Turkey and Russia.

According to Zadeh, it is very important to strengthen the education in the direction of information technologies, to arrange the visits of the scientists and professors of the scientific study institutes to the universities of the foreign countries and to give lectures on nanotechnologies.

He proposed five fundamental scientific theories. Zadeh has established an Institute on the Information Technologies in Berkley. The works of Zadeh called Z-Transformations serves as a basis for the discrete and digital management and the establishment of the information and communication systems. The well-known theories by Zadeh on attitude positions and the management and observation of dynamic systems serve as a scientific basis of the modern theory of management.
