The Yandex.Taxi service of Russia’s Yandex will start operating in Baku on Feb. 15, a source close to the matter told Trend.
Details will be announced at a press conference in Baku on Feb. 6, according to the source.
“For this occasion, Yandex representatives will arrive in Baku.”
Currently, there are more than 30 cars in the Yandex.Taxi fleet in Baku, and the number of the cars is increasing daily, said the source.
It was earlier reported that the Yandex Moscow office had already solved the issues concerning license certificates and programs and the issues related to the navigation system would be solved in the near future.
The Yandex.Taxi app is designed for online taxi booking. The service automatically determines the client’s location and dispatches the nearest taxi.
The app is accessible on the devices running Android and iOS operating systems.
Yandex is a Russian multinational technology company specializing in internet-related services and products.
Yandex operates the largest search engine in Russia with about 60 percent market share in that country.
