Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 22

By Huseyn Valiyev Trend:

IP traffic transited through the network of Azerbaijan’s largest backbone operator Delta Telecom exceeds 600 gigabit, the company told Trend on Jan.22.

The company aims at increasing its share in foreign markets, the source added.

Internet traffic through Delta Telecom network infrastructure is transited to Iran, Iraq, Georgia, and Afghanistan. The company increases traffic transit to neighboring countries as demand grows.

The company said earlier that it is planned to increase volume of transit IP traffic to one terabit. The network infrastructure of the company is capable of working at terabit speeds.

As for internal consumption, increase of IP traffic transport to country depends on consumer demand, which, as earlier the company said, will increase upon implementation of broadband internet development project and expanding of optical connections among home users.
