Azerbaijan's AzStateNet network reveals, blocks more malware attacks

The number of blocked malware attacks in Azerbaijan’s AzStateNet network in July 2020 amounted to 4,929, which is almost 15.1 percent more compared to the previous month, the report of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) under Special Communication and Information Security State Agency of the Special State Protection Service of Azerbaijan said, Trend reports.

The number of malware attacks blocked on the basis of URL-addresses stood at was 2,387, and about 2,542 malwares were handled by the Central Anti-Virus System (CAC), the report said.

According to CERT, from January through July 2020, the number of blocked malware attacks in the AzStateNet network based on URL addresses exceeded 16,387; about 19,669 attacks were blocked by CAC; and about 14,800 malicious URL addresses - by the so-called "sandbox" of CAC (a special isolated environment for safe execution of computer programs).

In 2019, the number of blocked attacks based on URL addresses in the AzStateNet network in Azerbaijan surpassed 40,000, about 28,371 blocked malware attacks were recorded by CAC and about 700 malicious URL addresses by the CAC sandbox.
