Azerbaijan has a very responsible approach to ensuring the continuity of production protection, Mikhail Pribochiy, managing director at Kaspersky Lab in Russia, the CIS, and the Baltic countries, told Trend on May 5.
“Azerbaijan realizes that different approaches to ensuring cybersecurity are required in the industrial and corporate segments,” Pribochiy added. “The digitalization of the sector may greatly increase the efficiency of any production, both through automation and through the analysis of data that comes from many devices of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).”
"Azerbaijan is a country where such technologies are rapidly developing,” the managing director added. “It is extremely important to realize the risks that accompany this process because cyber attacks can cause irreparable damage to the country's economy and affect people's health."
Pribochiy stressed that the attitude of the management of the companies to such risks has recently changed.
“The information security has become a matter of the first priority,” the managing director said. “Azerbaijan has a very responsible approach to ensuring the continuity of production, realizes that different approaches to ensuring cybersecurity are required in the industrial and corporate segments.”
“It is important that in the future when the Industry 4.0 concept begins to penetrate urban infrastructure, transport, housing, and communal services, healthcare and other spheres, cybersecurity continues to be one of the main elements that are laid in the foundation at the earliest stages,” Pribochiy added.
“This will make it possible not only to improve the quality of life of people but also to protect huge volumes of data which are collected by such systems from cyberattacks," the managing director said.
