Connecting Azerbaijani schools to the internet is mandatory both for operational activities and for the learning process itself, Mushvig Mammadov, the official representative of Kaspersky Lab in Azerbaijan, told Trend.

“I believe that knowledge about working online, the rules of ethical communication online and digital literacy is useful for schoolchildren,” he added.

Mammadov stressed that when connecting school devices to the internet, experts from IT departments should not forget about cybersecurity.

“It is important to configure traffic filtering, install anti-malware solutions, restrict access rights, and regularly update software on the computers that students have access to. On computers with sensitive data, it is necessary to take into account two-factor authentication. It is also important to conduct trainings on cybersecurity for employees of educational institutions,” he said.

The expert also stressed that Kaspersky Lab is ready to provide Azerbaijani schools with appropriate solutions or help with consultation on any of these issues: from teaching schoolchildren safe behavior online to organizing comprehensive data protection.
