BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Kaspersky Lab blocked about a million redirects to phishing sites in Azerbaijan in 2022, the official representative of Kaspersky Lab in Azerbaijan, Mushfig Mammadov, told Trend.
According to him, the majority, or 60 percent, fell on home users, and 40 percent on corporate users.
Mammadov added that Kaspersky's cybersecurity solutions cover not only the corporate segment but also home users. He said according to the surveys conducted by the company, in 2022, there was a growing trend of online fraud and social engineering.
"This type of cyberattack involves obtaining payment data and other personal information through fraud. This data is used for the theft of money or for further attacks. Users have very often encountered scammers on social networks and messengers. There are a lot of such cases, and we are working to raise awareness among the population," he said.
Furthermore, according to the official representative, cases of telephone fraud have become more frequent, where the same goals are pursued: theft of personal or payment information.
"In 2022, we registered a lot of phishing attacks. Our solutions blocked about a million redirects to phishing sites, the majority of which fell on home users. I would like to note that our companies have begun to pay more and more attention to cybersecurity and are implementing advanced solutions," he added.
