Azerbaijan, Dagestan developing tourism route following Alexandre Dumas' steps in Caucasus

Azerbaijan and Russia's Dagestan are working on implementation of a joint tourism project titled “Alexandre Dumas in the Caucasus”, which provides for a new tourism route to the places where the famous French writer once traveled.

Azerbaijan and Russia's Dagestan are working on implementation of a joint tourism project titled “Alexandre Dumas in the Caucasus”, which provides for a new tourism route to the places where the famous French writer once traveled, Kenan Guluzade, Head of the Public Relations Department of the State Agency for Tourism, told Trend Oct. 10.

"This interesting project is supported in France, and is regarded as another opportunity for the development of multilateral cooperation between France and Azerbaijan at the pan-European level."

"At the same time, it is aimed at developing the tourism sector in Azerbaijan and Dagestan, since foreign tourists will be able to visit the places which were visited once by the world-famous writer," Guluzade said.

The famous French writer Alexandre Dumas traveled in the Caucasus in 1858.
