Georgia is very attractive for German tourists, said German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Trend reports citing Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Steinmeier on October 6 arrived in Georgia with an official two-day visit.

Speaking about bilateral relations, Steinmeier especially noted 2017-2018 years of Georgian-German cooperation, in particular the 2018 being declared the the year of friendship between Georgia and Germany, in the framework of which a very productive cooperation was established.

According to the head of state, today German newspapers and magazines print a lot of information about Georgia.

“Almost every newspaper or magazine writes about Georgian literature, culture, and also offers to go to Svaneti, or for example, to visit the “grape harvest” in Kakheti. There is a lot of specific, detailed information about Georgia. This is the result of the fact that Georgia is very attractive for German tourists, and I am sure that the number of travelers from Germany to Georgia will increase next year,” said Steinmeier.
