The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will assist Uzbekistan in the implementation of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project on the construction of Tashkent-Samarkand toll road, Trend reports citing the press service of the national PPP Development Agency.
A corresponding agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport, the PPP Agency and EBRD.
According to the press service, EBRD will attract international consultants in the framework of technical assistance to the project.
Under the agreement, international experts together with specialists of the ministry will carry out the necessary work on the implementation of the PPP project in several stages, including a comprehensive examination and preparation of the project, taking into account legal, financial and technical aspects.
The parties will consider all possible options for implementing the project, taking into account the peculiarities of the region.
Earlier this year, EBRD assisted the Government of Uzbekistan in attracting international experts to develop a draft PPP law, approved on May 3, 2019.
