Kazakh Air Astana to resume flights between country's  Almaty and Nur-Sultan

Kazakhstan’s Air Astana airline company will resume implementation of regular flights between Almaty and Nur-Sultan cities, Trend reports with reference to the company.

The company said that the flights will be implemented starting from May 1, 2020 and will be carried out three times a day.

“Flights will be carried out in compliance with all sanitary standards, including wearing masks by both passengers and the crew, disinfecting the cabin after each flight, using antiseptics and maintaining distance between passengers,” the company said.

The company also noted that passengers whose flights were canceled prior to May 11 and later due to coronavirus spread may change the departure date or get full refund without paying anything.

Within the framework of step-by-step ease quarantine regime in Kazakhstan the flights between Nur-Sultan and Almaty from May 1 has been made. Initially, the frequency of flights will be 4 flights per day. Flights will be carried out in accordance with the enhanced sanitary standards. They will carry fewer passengers and will use special remote seating method in the plane.

In order to prevent coronavirus spreading in Kazakhstan, the number of flights was reduced by 438 flights per week on international destinations on 97 routes, which makes up 99 percent of all international flights implemented.

Additionally, all domestic flights have been cancelled and currently no regular air services operate in the country.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Kazakhstan has reached 2,835. The first two cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Kazakhstan among those who arrived in Almaty city from Germany on March 13, 2020.
