Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Amir Mahmoud Ghaffari announced that at least four provinces will be connected to the rail network by the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the Official Website of the Ministry.
As Ghaffari said, connecting provinces to the rail network is part of a bigger plan of the ministry, which also includes completing the rail transit network.
He went on to say that construction of 1,614 km of roads, modernization, improvement and upgrade of freight, rail and locomotive fleets through the $3.2 billion credit is on the agenda.
"These programs and their priorities have been determined,” he said. “From the required credit, the amount of $1.3 billion has been allocated so far.”
