Uzbekistan creates center for automotive inter-industry cooperation

Uzbekistan has created a center of interindustry cooperation for the automotive industry in Bektemir district of Tashkent, Trend reports citing Uzavtosanoat JSC.

The platform is aimed at cooperation and localization of industries, which aims to expand cooperation between entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan.

Based on the market conditions and demand of industrial enterprises, it is advisable to strengthen inter-sectoral links that promote development. Today such enterprises as UzAuto Motors, SamAuto, Uz Truck & Bus Motors, UzAutoTRAILER, UzAuto Motors Powertrain, Tashkent Tractor Plant produce modern vehicles and components.

However, many spare parts are imported, which leads to additional costs. The main objective of Cooperation LAB is the development of inter-industry cooperation in the automotive industry, reduction of imports, and increase of localization level.

Besides, enterprises of Association Uzeltekhsanoat will be widely represented at the site, thus significantly expanding the list of products for development and localization.

Widespread use of local raw materials and manufacturing resources will promote the production of competitive products and reduce the import of components.

In Uzbekistan, there is potential for the production of 1,712 items of components for the automotive industry, currently imported from abroad. Localization of their production will allow reducing currency costs by at least $150 million.
