Freight traffic from Russian railway landfill to Azerbaijan reduced in the past eight months of 2020, Trend reports to Russian media outlets.
According to the media, in the reporting period, exports of products through the Russian railway landfill decreased by 11 percent and amounted to 267,500 tons.
"The goods were mainly sent to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Baltic states, as well as to distant countries through the north-western ports," the media said.
During the reporting period, cargo turnover between Russia and the above-mentioned countries increased by 8 percent and amounted to 15 billion ton-kilometers.
The largest growth accounted for the transportation of iron ore (3 percent - 5.1 million tons), construction goods (52 percent - 1.5 million tons), and ferrous metals (34 percent - up to 60,700 tons).
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia made up $1.7 billion from January through August 2020.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported products worth $463.3 million to Russia, while a year earlier this figure was $457.4 million (annualized growth by 1.3 percent). Russia’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export grew from 3.39 to 4.69 percent.
