Water pipeline to be launched from Persian Gulf to Iran’s Kerman Province

The first part of the water pipeline which is laying from the Persian Gulf to the Sirjan county of Kerman Province (southeastern Iran) will be put into operation on November 5, Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Khodadad Gharibpour said, Trend reports citing the IMIDRO.

The deputy minister said that the length of the 1st part of pipeline to be launched is 305 km.

He added a total of 163 trillion rials (about $ 3.88 billion) was spent on the laying of the pipeline.

Gharibpour noted that a part of the water needs of mining and industrial facilities in Hormozgan, Kerman and Yazd provinces of Iran will be met with the laying of this pipeline.

The chairman emphasized the laying of this pipeline was organized by IMIDRO. And the Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company are investment companies.

According to the deputy minister, the length of the second part of this pipeline is 150 km and covers the distance from Golgohar Company through Sarcheshmeh Copper Company.

Gharibpour stressed the length of the third part of the pipeline is 150 km and covers the distance from Sarcheshmeh Company to Ardakan Steel Company.

"The first section of the pipeline will transport 180 million cubic meters of water per year and will possess the capacity to transport 680 million cubic meters of water per year," he said.
