Some 15.5 million tons of cargo were transported by all types of transport in January 2021, Trend reports citing the data from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The decrease in cargo transportation volume in annual terms reached 19.8 percent.
Just over 8.1 percent of all cargo transportation in the volume of 1.3 million tons accounted for rail transport.
During the reporting period, 126,700 passengers were transported by trains.
An increase in cargo transportation reached 8.6 percent while a decrease of 68.8 percent was observed in passenger transportation compared to the same period of 2020.
On average, 379 wagons were loaded during one day while 363 wagons were unloaded.
The loading operations in the volume of 17,700 tons were carried out in the northern direction of the Azerbaijani railways, 3,400 tons - in the western direction and 700 tons in the southern direction during the day.
