The volume of goods transported through the Azerbaijani section of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) totaled over 3.27 million tons in January 2021, which is 23.7 percent less compared to January 2020, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
During the reporting month, the cargo turnover in the country amounted to 770.7 million ton-kilometers, which is 15.8 percent less than a year earlier.
Over 1.83 million tons, or 56 percent of all cargo was transported by road, more than 1.1 million tons, or 33.8 percent - by rail, more than 336,000 tons, or 10.2 percent - by sea.
The report also noted that about 0.7 million tons, or 21.7 percent of all cargo transportation were carried out in transit.
