ADY Express LLC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC’s affiliate, has started transporting another cargo along international transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan, the press service of the LLC told Trend on May 25.
According to the press service, for this aim, the company established cooperation with the Mechel Group, one of the largest industrial companies in Russia.
“The agreement on cooperation was reached in April during negotiations held as part of the international transport and logistics exhibition TransRussia 2021 in Moscow. As a result, an agreement was signed between Mechel-Trans (part of the Mechel Group) and ADY Express LLC,” the press service said. “With reference to the official website of the Mechel company, Mechel-Trans manages 11,000 freight wagons, and the annual freight capacity is over 30 million tons.”
Besides, according to the press service, ADY Express will carry out railway transportation of the company's products to Georgia. The first shipment has already been made. Metal products sent from the Beloretsk station in Russia, covered a distance of 3,241 km, were delivered to the Tbilisi-Tovarnaya station in Georgia.
The volume of the first cargo amounted to 136 tons, and the consignor is Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, which belongs to the Mechel group of companies.
Mechel is comprised of more than 20 production enterprises in the field of coal mining, metallurgy, energy, and logistics.
